A few words from Fair Manager, Keith Johnson:
Lets put 60 YEARS into perspective: 1950 — Gas $0.56/Gallon Soda $0.25 Movie $0.35 First Year of the Prince William County Fair
60 Years ago members of the community decided to put on a family event. They brought their animals and their crops and put them on display for a friendly competition. It was the largest social event in the area.
Today the Prince William County Fair is still the largest event in the area. Second and third generation families still bring their animals and crops for display and competition. The dream of the founders was to create an event for the families of Prince William County and that dream continues today. We hope that you will find time to visit one of the last remaining “Family Events” in the area - the 60th Annual Prince William County Fair. “Farms Forever-Forever Farms” August 14-22, 2009.
